Cen Shen & Changsong Li
Cen Shen and Changsong Li share a strong passion for architecture as both a design discipline and a construction process. They are interested not only in the form and space of buildings, but also in how architecture is fabricated, assembled, and integrated with environmental systems. Their work is driven by a curiosity about materials, fabrication technologies, and construction logic, and how these factors can shape architectural design from the earliest stages.
About CSLab
The studio focuses on developing architecture through the relationship between geometry, material, fabrication, and construction. Rather than treating design and construction as separate processes, CSLab approaches architecture as a continuous workflow from concept design to fabrication logic and assembly strategy.
The work of CSLab includes architectural design, facade system development, modular construction strategies, and material research, with a particular interest in sustainable building systems and fabrication-driven design. Many projects explore how buildings can be designed not only for construction, but also for disassembly, reuse, and environmental adaptation over time.
Through design projects, prototypes, and built work, CSLab aims to rethink the relationship between architecture, manufacturing, and environmental systems, and to develop new architectural approaches that respond to future construction technologies and ecological challenges.
